We start by turning your drawings, reference images or existing product into a clear specification. With that brief we shortlist manufacturers in Turkey or South East Asia whose materials, production methods and capacity fit the project, and request comparable quotes.
Quotes are set out side by side so that price, lead time, packaging and payment terms can be compared on the same basis. Before bulk production we arrange samples or finish swatches for your approval, and before shipment the goods are inspected against the approved sample.
What a good furniture brief covers
The more precisely these points are defined, the more comparable the quotes will be:
- Materials: solid wood species, veneer, MDF or plywood grade, metal, upholstery fabric or leather, foam density.
- Dimensions and tolerances, ideally with technical drawings.
- Finishes and colours: lacquer, stain, powder coating, and the reference sample they must match.
- Use and standards: residential or contract use, and any fire-safety or durability requirements in the destination market.
- Packaging: flat-pack or assembled, carton strength, corner protection and assembly instructions.
- Quantities per item and colour, and the target delivery date.
Turkey or South East Asia?
Both regions have established furniture industries. Turkey has large production clusters such as İnegöl, Kayseri and Ankara’s Siteler district, and its proximity to Europe and the Gulf States can shorten transit times. Vietnam, Malaysia and Indonesia are known for wooden and outdoor furniture. Which market suits you depends on the product, the quantity and the destination, and we can compare both before you decide.
Volume, packaging and shipping
Furniture freight is priced by volume as much as by weight, so the packed volume per piece (CBM) and how many pieces fit into a 20- or 40-foot container affect the landed cost. We ask suppliers for packed dimensions early and take them into account when comparing quotes. Wooden pallets and crates generally need ISPM 15 treatment, and for wood products going to the EU, the documentation required under the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) should be clarified at the start. We coordinate with carriers and forwarders and help prepare the shipping documents.
